The Sport of Grip Strength
Huge Announcement
I have taken the reigns of the North American Grip Sport Association, and if you want to find out more about it, then check out the website right now: North American Grip Sport.
I made an announcement that I would be working on this organization several weeks ago on Grip Strength Radio. It took me a little bit longer than I had originally planned, but I wanted to make sure that everything was good before putting it out there.
Aiding me in this endeavor from the beginning has been a small team of very dedicated individuals, and I could not have done it without them: Brent Barbe, Aaron Corcorran, Andrew Durniat, Paul Knight, Chris Rice, and Rick Walker.
We have been collaborating for several weeks on getting the web page completed with the appropriate information.
It is very simple and basic.
There is no flashy graphics and there are no social media plug-ins but there is all the information you could need in order to understand what the Sport of Grip is and how to get involved.
Here are a few of the items that are covered at the Grip Sport website if you are new to the sport:
- the basic Guidelines of the organization
- the Rules of the Common Events in a contest
- the Promoters that regularly run Grip Strength Contests
- a Calendar showing upcoming Contests, Seminars, Training Sessions, etc
- explanation of the Grip Sport Scoring System
- explanation of the North American Grip Sport Ranking System
- explanation of Divisions
- and more will be added as it develops
I also want to thank the British Hand Strength Association for their support of this endeavor. I used many of their rules and guidelines in order to formulate the Grip Sport Page and bounced many ideas off David Horne, in particular.
I am very excited to have finally gotten this around and I can not say enough how much I appreciate all of the help I have gotten from the individuals I mentioned above.
Questions About Grip Sport?
In addition to the post you are reading here, I will also be doing an episode of Grip Strength Radio tomorrow – Friday November 19 at 1PM EST. I will be going over the site page by page and covering the information at the Grip Sport Site.
I think everything is pretty clear, but if there is anything that you don’t understand, I’d like to hear about it! So, please feel free to call the Diesel Hotline, 607-857-6997, between 1 PM and 2 PM and we can discuss any questions you might have about North American Grip Sport and you will be on Grip Strength Radio!
In closing, I just want to say I LOVE the sport of Grip and I will do all that I can to help it grow.
If you would like to help be a part of making the Grip Sport organization a success or how to spread the word about the sport and help it continue to grow, please feel free to shoot me a note at my email address.
Thanks in advance, and all the best in your training.
Jedd
