Hello DIESELS!

I got some pretty good feedback the other day on one of my more mature products, the Card Tearing Ebook System.

I had gotten tagged in a post by someone on Facebook named Chris Davis, and it said:

“Reading through Jedd Johnson’s Card Tearing Manual. Great stuff.”

So, I searched through my email for this fellow’s name and I found the order and his email address and sent him this quick note from my Droid…

“Chris, Thanks for your purchase. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks again. Jedd Johnson”

I then got a great email back from him, saying:

“I have heard nothing but praise for you sir from some very high people. Definitely have my eyes on the nail bending ebook/dvd.”

So I dug a little deeper and I found out that Chris is also an RKC through Dragondoor and a former Marine. So I also sent him a Thank-You note for his service for our country.

It’s funny – when you design a product, write a book/ebook, or film an instructional DVD, you often end up learning more than you knew before you started. For instance, when I wrote the Card Tearing eBook, I learned about several techniques that I didn’t know about before. Some of them, I could not do!

For instance, a dude I was training with often at the time, John Eaton had an interesting style of holding the card out in front of his face while tearing them.

This style was much more difficult than what I had learned, so I ask him to shoot the technique on film so that I could put them into the ebook, and he obliged.

I firmly believe in continuing to hone your skills, and over time I was able to perform the John Eaton Technique. As you can see below…

John Eaton Card Tearing Technique

This technique has gotten easier and easier over the last few months.

I take pride in all of my products and strive to make sure they deliver far more value than the bare minimum. For instance, in the Card Tearing eBook, I also included a chapter on restoration. With these exercises, you can do more tearing more often without worrying about overuse injuries.

And honestly, even if you never feel like ripping a deck of cards in half, the exercises in the exercise index will just plain make your hands stronger for carryover into the rest of your lifting, sports activities, and even if you are handling weapons while serving our country.

If you are looking for something that will show you how to build stronger hands while also showing you how to tear a deck of cards like the Strongman Performers of the Past, then check this ebook out…

All the best in your training.

Jedd

It’s hard for me to believe that it’s been almost a full year since I released the Card Tearing eBook.

When I wrote it, I wanted to make it a complete Card Tearing System.

I designed it to be a resource that anyone could use to work toward tearing a deck of cards, regardless of hand size, current strength level, or prior training experience.

SEE THE REST OF THIS COOL POST AFTER THE JUMP

Nothing makes me feel better than when someone who set the goal to tear a deck of cards follows the steps and finally accomplishes their goal!

Getting Results

I thought I’d pull out a note I recently got from someone who is seeing results in his card tearing journey and share it with you. This shout is from one of our readers, Matthew.

“Hi Jedd,

I just thought I’d let you know my card tearing has been getting better and better recently, as has my nail bending, since incorporating some of the assistance exercises you mention in your ebooks.

I put a clip up on YouTube last night, and about half way through you can see me tearing cards. I’m not sure what my technique is, it kind of looks like the one used you show being used by John Eaton in the book. I just find it works best for me. I’ve quartered a couple of decks this way too, but I need to work on that more…

Thanks for the tips,

Matt Brocklebank.”

Matt, thanks for the kind words on the Card Tearing System. Keep up the great work.

I firmly believe anybody can tear a deck of cards as long as you have the use of your hands.

With that in mind, these are the things I took into account when I designed the Card Tearing eBook.

Card Tearing Techniques

In the Card Tearing eBook, I show multiple techniques for tearing cards. I did this because everybody is a little different and some people prefer certain techniques over others. It could be because of their given strengths and weaknesses, limitations in the range of motion of their wrists, or even their individual pain tolerances.

Ability Levels

Knowing that some people will need more assistance than others, I included in the Card Tearing eBook ways to systematically build up to tearing an entire deck, showing methods to get the tear started more easily and then to work on the finish, and also ways to start out with easier decks of cards and work up to harder ones. That’s right, decks of cards vary depending on how they are made.

Exercise Index

Another important part of the Card Tearing eBook that sets it apart from other resources is the exercise index. I included 40+ pages of exercises in the card tearing system and there is very little repetition between it and the Nail Bending eBook, which I released a few years back. Card Tearing involves different requirements of the hand from other Grip activities. It is different from deadlifting, blob lifting, and thick bar training, so I put in exercises that are designed to strengthen the specific hand, wrist, finger, and thumb positions and forces that take place when you rip a deck of cards in half. While general Grip strength is good, specific Grip strength is best if you are trying to do feats of Grip strength, like tearing decks of cards.

Variety of Training Tools

Top Secret Home Made Card Tearing Training Tool

If you hate weights or are bored by them, then don’t worry about it, because I’ve got tons of movements and training tools that don’t require conventional weightlifting resistance training at all. The ebook includes the use of 2 by 4 boards, ropes, chains, exercise bands, and more.

I also sprinkled in some top secret techniques for developing card tearing strength, as pictured above. What the hell could that be used for? You’d be surprised.

My Personal Efforts

I always aim to please with all my products. I work my ass off on them and take pride in the detail I go into. I think anybody who picks up my Card Tearing eBook will be happy with it, not to mention the huge list of bonuses that come with it:

30 Days of Email Support

The Savage Grip eBook

Grip Considerations for the Bench Press Video

Interview with Joe Hashey and Me on MuscleGainingExperts.com, and

Interview I just did last week with Logan Christopher and Bud Jeffries.

In fact, I just added that last bonus tonight – so check it out: CardTearing.com.

If this is your first trip to the Diesel Crew website, WELCOME. Here at our site you will find some of the greatest free information on how to get strong, fit and muscular!. Before you go, I have a question for YOU at the bottom!

As you peruse the site, you will see countless free articles that Smitty and I have written to help you out. These articles are at no cost because we love providing good solid training information. To check out our articles, click on the MEDIA toolbar above. In addition to the hundreds of articles and posts that we have put up, you’ll also find numerous articles and posts from guest authors who have wanted to help you out as well.

Another thing that you will find is a ton of great free video clips. When we develop new exercise variations, we post them. When we perform cool feats of strength, we post them. Keep coming back to see our videos and subscribe to our YouTube Channels.

Speaking of videos,we were one of the first strength training teams to put out videos on the internet. Back before YouTube was taking the internet by storm, we were editing videos and putting them to hard core metal head banging music, and streaming them off our site.

In fact, we used to get so much traffic and so many visitors downloading our videos, we had to upgrade our bandwidth settings with our providers multiple times! Luckily, these days we don’t need to host locally anymore and there are places like YouTube and Revver to help us out…

Every so often I’d like to turn back the clock and show you one of the classic Diesel Crew videos from back in the day. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come, but it’ll also show you how long we’ve been doing what we love – providing you with great information and enjoyable entertainment.

So without further ado, let’s take a trip back in time about 6 years.

I took a temporary position working from noon until 9:30 at the plant which enabled me to workout every single day in the morning This was great because I could roll out of bed, go to the gym and hit a hard workout completely fresh, when I was completely fully rested.

First Strongman Competition – Farmer’s Hold for Time

I was training for my first strongman contest and had no specific equipment, no knowledge of the sport, and no idea how to train for it.

Grip Contest – Two Hands Pinch Event

I was also training for my first grip contest and had just learned how to tear a deck of cards in half.

I had just gotten done with a lower body workout where I trained Back Squats, Front Squats and Heavy Zercher Lifts, when I figured it would be a good time to deload my lumbar spine by hanging upside down with the gravity boots and had just recently gotten.

Hanging upside down letting the blood rush to my head in order to deload my spine seemed like it would be a little boring, so I decided to do something else while I hung there…

Please pardon me for the crappy quality of this clip. I made it on a very old and primitive video editing software. But I can ensure you that the graininess of the clip will not take away from the coolness of this strength feat!

That was like one of the first 5 videos I ever posted on the net. If you want to see more of them, check out my YouTube Channel.

So – QUESTION FOR YOU – if you’ve been coming to the Diesel Crew site for a while, is there a video you’d like to see featured on the site in a periodic Turn Back the Clock segment? If so post below in the comments and we may just be able to dig it out for you!

Thanks and all the best in your training,
