Is Hanging from a Bar Good for Grip Strength?
Grip Strength Question
I see lots of beginner grip guys and gals talking about hanging from a bar for time. I’ve heard of people looking to do ninja warrior, obstacle course training, and fun runs talking about hanging to build grip strength too. Heck, I’ve even heard of lifters who want to bring up their holding power for the deadlift talking about hanging or time in order to work on their lack of grip strength.
So is this form of training beneficial?
Does it work for making your hands stronger?
I cover this question in today’s video:
Is Hanging from a Bar Good for Grip Strength?
That answer might surprise you, but thinking along the lines of strength training specificity, I feel that it is the right one.
And so, doing bar hangs to improve your grip strength might be a good idea for some, while it might be a complete waste of time for others.
I hope this helps you out, and I welcome any other questions you might have.
