Laterals with chains, Medicine Ball pushups, Kettlebell presses - Rocky is getting sick with his workouts! He must be a big Diesel fan!
Dan Cenidoza came up in May and showed us how a they do it down in Baltimore.
100 snatches with a 24kg Kettlebell .
Got our hands on some 70D nails recently and Eli decided to murder one as soon as he saw it! Watch closely,
as this video is interspersed with footage of a radioactive spider working its way to bite Eli's hand while he is lifting an Atlas Stone. (Click Image Above)
The Inch Dumbbell was invented by Thomas Inch, a performing strongman from many, many years ago. Replicas of this historic beast weigh
173 lbs. While a normal 173 lb dumbbell doesn't sound too offensive, when you consider that the Inch Replica has a nearly 2.5-inch diameter handle
and is made of cast iron, you can appreciate why only a handful have successfully pulled it to their shoulder and pressed it overhead.
Jedd's been working on it for nearly 3 years. Here is what he calls a CHEAT CONTINENTAL PUSH PRESS.
Got a chance to play with a few big Kettlebells at MAX Kettlebells in Williamsport, PA. I snatched the 115 lb KB and turned a missed snatch attempt on a 130 lber into a clean and jerk.
Don't worry, next time, I won't miss the 130...trust me!

Cenidoza BE-MORE TRAINING and Luke came up and worked on a project with us and then came over to the Diesel compound. We had
a great time just hanging out and working our way through every piece of equipment we have. Card tearing, spike bending, phone book tearing, kettlebell throwing and everything else you
can think of...Enjoy
The Diesel Crew's Building the Ultimate MMA Athlete is Done!!!. Finally! I can't believe it! I have spent night and day
working on this project and the response has been overwhelming. I announced it in our newsletter yesterday - and we sold out in a day and a half!!!
All of you have been so supportive and I really appreciate it. I cannot believe how many people have supported us
since the beginning and now - as we build our products - you continue to support us. I sent out so many orders today - my
head is spinning! I have just ordered another huge printing of the manual and can't wait for all of you to receive it!
Finally able to hit the infamous feat. Preceded by Eli and then Jedd, bending a RED was a long journey for me. The crush almost killed me because I couldn't get my fingers interlocked to finish it - it was still too wide. I rewrapped it and crushed it. NEVER GIVE UP!
You'd be hard pressed to find a grip feat Jedd can't do - but there is only one problem I have...it is that he makes it look so easy. Trust me, front levering an 8lb sledge and holding it there and this card tearing technique with this deck (freaking tough!) is amazing.
Here is Rick almost hitting his goal of 700 lb in the deadlift with this tribute to Elite FTS.
Here is Rick's CHASING ELITE video. He is preparing for the IPA Worlds in York, PA on July 22-23rd..

I have currently locked myself in the dungeon and am working on a monster - Diesel Crew's - BUILDING THE ULTIMATE MMA ATHLETE. It will be Diesel Crew's biggest ebook to date will cover all aspects of training including strength and conditioning development, flexibility concerns, rehabilitation concerns, training templates and some of the most insane, never before seen Diesel exercises that will bring the pain. Don't miss out or you'll be knocked out.
The FIRST Underground Seminar took place on Sunday, March 19th. What happened? The sold out seminar presented the most evolutionary strength coaches in the business - tossing stones, dominating sandbags, training with thick ropes, tearing cards, bending steel with their hands and killing kettlebells... and that was just the hands on...
The presentations discussed aspects of conditioning, odd object lifting, multi-planar kettlebell training and much more...
CHECK OUT JEDD'S WRITE-UP!
Two weeks ago, the Diesel Crew, along with Jason C. Brown of kettlebellathletics.com, joined forces with Underground Strength Coach, Zach Even-esh. In front of 40 eager participants, all three forces combined for an unforgettable experience.
Zach started the day off, speaking on the training of young athletes. Zach talked about the importance of training young athletes with a variety of stimuli, and getting them brutally strong!
Jason showed a variety of hands-on kettlebell techniques. By the end of his segment, some of the audience was begging for mercy from this master of kettlebells.
The Diesel Crew rounded out the speaking portions, talking about the the basics of the Diesel Method, and how to apply this approach to an athletic training program.
Just when everyone thought it was over, Zach decided to really give them their money's worth by subjecting them to his choice of sandbag carries and lifts. By the end of the day, the audience was glad to return to their normal jobs, invigorated by the experience.
If you missed the inaugural Underground Strength Coach seminar, don’t feel too bad, Work has begun on formulating the DVD! That's right, keep your eyes open. Future announcements will be coming in regards to this DVD. You won’t want to miss it again.
It is finally done - Diesel Crew's - Grappling
Conditioning II !!!Go to our
Grappling Page and check it out.
This DVD contains more advanced
Bodyweight drills and exercises that
can be done right in the matroom, in the ring, on the
field. MMA, Rugby players and firemen are just a few
of the individuals who have ordered the first
installment - and loved it!
I remember watching this documentary on bouncers
for bars and nightclubs and one guy stuck out in my
mind. He was an older guy from England and he had
a
heavy, deep voice that was unforgettable. What
really caught
me off guard was how he explained everything - it
was very mesmerizing. He was matter-a-fact about
everything when he was describing from his horrible
childhood to his fights - and you could tell he was
tough!
This guy was Lenny "The Guv'nor"
Mclean. He was a bare-knuckle champion and won,
by all accounts, thousands of fights. I did some
research on him and found his site. In his later
years, he turned to acting and his most famous role
was in Guy Ritchie's "Lock, Stock and Two
Smoking Barrels" - Check it out if you get
the chance - I did just recently myself.
The Guv'nor died in 1998 of brain and lung
cancer.

Testing the GRIP and mental toughness - this session was tough.
Do you remember Mark Baily? The 160 lb high school
wrestling punk we met 4 years ago, when he just
finished his wrestling season. He was weak, sucked
out and looking for a way to make his upcoming
senior year his best ever. The Diesel
Method was the tool that took Mark to States
his senior year and place 3rd in New York!
We're off to the Arnold Classic 2006! We're going to see everything we can and meet some old friends – hope to see you there!
Here is Jedd's note:
We're less than a week away from one of the most
exciting weekends of the year for strength
enthusiasts. This Friday, March 3, 2006, the Diesel
Crew will be traveling to Columbus Ohio, for the
Arnold Classic. If you enjoy displays of strength and
athletic skill, then you need to be there, too!
This will mark the third year in a row that the Diesel
Crew has made the trip to Columbus. The Arnold
Classic features an array of strength competition,
including the Strongman Competition, World
Powerlifting Championships, and more Olympic
Weightlifting than you can shake a stick at. It's a
great menu for the connoisseur of strength. Also,
the Arnold Classic will present a multitude of athletic
endeavors. Where else can you see all the following
sports under one roof: Arm Wrestling, Gymnastics,
Archery, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Cheerleading,
Hockey, Boxing; and that's just the first day - this is
a three day event. And don't forget about the
convention center, where you can get a look at
some of the cutting edge strength equipment and
supplements from an assortment of manufacturers,
many of whom have sponsored Diesel Crew's Global
Grip Challenge, and are featured in our links section.
This coming weekend is one of the biggest of the
year for the Diesel Crew. This is a spectacle that we
have been awaiting for a year, and we'll be talking
about for some time. Look for us on the convention
floor, and at the events. I know I can't wait to see
the Apollon's Wheel lift at the Strongman
Competition, and the Powerlifting Championships, as
well as the Arm Wrestling and the Boxing - how am I
going to fit it all in?

Jedd put this video together and I thought it was awesome! Editor's note: The loadable handle was 2.5 inch, NON-KNURLED! Huge grip strength and Jedd hauled up 160lbs!!!! Now you can see why he can deadlift the Thomas Inch Replica!
Here's Jedd's write-up:
Here's a quick video I whipped up of us training for the one-arm press.
Basically what we have done is singles, working up to the heaviest dumbell we can legally continental clean and then press. Once our grip is shot, we will just get it to the shoulder with two hands (not allowed in the contest)and press it out legally. Sometimes we even two hand the actual Inch replica to the shoulder and try to press it out.
We usually use this as our warm-up for log press.

The Diesel Crew will be in Connecticut for Stronger Than All 2006 again.
This contest was huge last year! Along the lines of sheer numbers of athletes, it was the biggest we attended in all of 2005.
The VENUE is a huge indoor facility, so even if it turns out to be the coldest March in recorded history, we should all be comfortable inside.
Once again we will hold The World Series of Grip on the sidelines of the Strongman contest.
The World Series of Grip is a Grip challenge that features many Grip Feats of Strength. Grip, as a sport,
continues to grow and more beasts keep popping up. Last year, several beastly athletes at the contest were able to lift the Thomas Inch Replica
dumbbell to lockout the first time seeing it, including Robert T.T. McCray, Big Tom McClure, and Marcel Pelletier. Who will surprise us this year???
Several of The Diesel Crew will be competing. In fact preparation for this Big Event will begin soon.
Not even the recent cold weather will keep the Crew from hitting some PRs in this Show.
Total Performance Sports (TPS.com) in Everett Mass held the second installment of Grip Assault - Mark Bruno took first place.
This show was held as a charity fundraiser for a local young man, Billy, age 26, who needs two pulmonary lobes transplanted. Congratulations,
Bruno, and well done to Murph and Dave of TPS who show once again why they are class acts in the Strength World, not just for producing leaders
in Strongman and other areas of martial arts and fitness, but also in kindness. After the show, Jane Stabile, a competitor in the ladies
division had this to say on the Gripboard:
"As you attend holiday parties over the next few weeks, I hope everyone ... will spread the word to their friends who might be able to be living
donors. Billy needs one lung lobe (you have five of them) from each of two people who are healthy nonsmokers, at least 5'7", with blood type AB.
Great chance to do something truly good, and you could expect a complete recovery. How often do you get a chance to save someone's life? Julie
Whitson can be reached at 617-721-9794 or JulieWhitson@rcn.com, and the web site where people can learn more is www.nicelungs.com."
Great job again to all those who competed, and our boys at TPS for putting on a great event to benefit Billy.
Steve Cotter, CSCS, RKC, Sr. - is an awesome guy with some big ideas. Steve is recognized as a leader in the Kettlebell community and you will see why - check out his groundbreaking interview!
This video is one of my best ever - it shows Bent Pressing, 12" Log Pressing, heavy Front Squats and a 17 year old freak - with 7" hands fully deadlifting a York BLOB. This is an amazing feat by anyone, but for someone with small hands it becomes ELITE - great job Brad!!!
A Diesel Video is not just a video - it is an experience. This one is no different. Look for Old School "Olympic Pressing", Spike Bending, Tricep Lockouts with a 12" Log and Doubled Mini-bands, Push Pressing an Axle with Purple Bands and some Kettlebell fun.

Smitty took an "L" on this one - catching a KB spinning fast can create a lot of hurt - happened in the middle of the workout - had to keep going til the end - you know how we do it!
I kicked it up a notch in this Kettlebell video. This is a montage of "The Double" flip of the 95 lb Kettlebell. Once again - we wouldn't be here without each of you supporting us - so thank you!
Jedd and I definitely draw inspiration from the strong men who came before us. This video is dedicated to Tradition and also to all of our supporters. What you'll see is two very difficult feats with a 95 lb kettlebell. I was thankfully able to hit a double forward flip and Jedd hit a bell press into a forward flip. The double flip is triple extension at its best and the bell up press is unbelievably difficult for the shoulder and core. Thank you everyone for your support.
What has Rick been up to? Training hard and hitting some big weight. Here he is smoking 635 lbs and dominating a 20" Atlas Stone. Rick works long hours and still has time to be with his family, train and write awesome articles. Thanks for checking in Rick - and he has recently promised me a new article - so check back soon!
Jim has a great attitude and is ready to increase his strength foundation with new protocols - he came to the right place - huge Sotts Press in this one!
Jim Storch's prodigy, this kid has been relentless over the last 3 years and never misses a workout - huge future in the sport for him
Jedd and I field tons of email everyday from trainers, strength coaches, fitness professionals and regular people - who love fitness and enjoy our site. We are going to be starting a Testimonial page on the site to display all your kind words. A big thank you to everyone that supports us and the Diesel Site - we wouldn't be here without your loyal support!
Hey Diesel guys!
I'm writing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada... a few of us have started a team of strength enthusiasts, akin to your Crew. We call ourselves Team Barbarian. There's 6 of us at the core of the group, with a few other guys in Toronto that jump in for training every now and then.
Most of us have competed (Strongman) and trained independently before, but we're noticing improvements in performance since we started establishing a team atmosphere / training together. Hopefully we'll keep it going. You guys have been really inspirational as well (the website, esp. video clips! F**kin' hardcore!).
We've also just started videotaping some of our training sessions, so hopefully we'll have that set up by next year. We're just starting out, but if things go well we might get a website going also.
Anyway, thought I'd give you guys a shout-out... wouldn't mind corresponding from time to time about training, etc., and to pick your brains about stuff.
Talk to you soon,

Some awesome feedback on Rick's Combat Articles
I am 25 and have been a Police Officer and Volunteer Firefighter for 4 years this October.
The town I work in is small and I am the only Officer on duty between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am.
Getting backup takes awhile. Luckily in a small town bad stuff doesn't happen too often, but when it does it hits the fan hard.
I appreciate the article, it gave me great motivation to train even harder. It could save my life one day.
I hope that the article finds its way to others in Law Enforcement as well as all people. I'll circulate it as much as possible.
Keep them coming!
Once again THANK YOU for the article, its nice to know there are people like you giving us a hand at our job.
