Diesel Crew 21 Challenge
For this challenge, the main idea is to push yourself and record your time.
Due to the length that some of the videos will be, video will only be required for the winner of the challenge.
Please have your times in to me by NOON EST on 12/31/12. You can email me at jedd dot diesel at gmail dot com. The winner will be announced on January 1st, time and hang-over permitting.
Any videos submitted will be posted here on the site, so it will be a great way to introduce yourself to the rest of the on-line world.
Who will be the winner? Who will be the survivor?
I can’t wait to find out.
All the best in your training.
Jedd

Hey Jedd
Just to be sure, I can’t do Heide Klum’s bodyweight? 🙂 It really has to be mine……
Freaking awesome challenge, I am in Spain right now visiting my Parents, so I can’t go and have a play, but I am back In Germany in a few days, and then it will be challenge time 🙂

Awesome to hear! I plan on having challenges of many different facets in the coming year. Not all Grip, or Bodyweight, or even with weights, so we should have a pretty cool time in 2013!

Should make it festive, timer starts, drink 1/2 gallon of eggnog THEN the 21’s! 😀

210 squats, 210 push ups, so allowing a second for each rep (and no rest) that is 420 seconds (or 7 minutes) of fearsome activity, I have been doing the maths (I am an Engineer) and the energy exertion required for this challenge might actually turn you into a Zombie…..
You Diesel guys really don’t mess around, respect 🙂

Awesome! When I started doing these on December first, I timed in at 57:27. Did them on the 13th in 27:56. Still pitiful, but I’m shooting for most improved. HAHAHA Kris Hamilton did his last attempt in 10:09. Bill Long, who is an elite Airborne soldier will be doing this on the 31st as well!

Thanks for making me sound so bad ass Mike, I will wait to attempt it on the 31st not because i’m that confident but because of my current training program i’m on is tough and has a goal at the end of it. I can’t wait to try this though.

Jedd,
Thanks! I did not think I would get a workout in tonight in Germany after going to the Christmas market.
However after reading some of the comments on time and numbers I gave it a shot.
I set my gymboss for 10 minutes and did it in 8.27.
I love the 20-1 pyramid up and down and now will utilize this with other exercises including Tabatas. My time was like 2 consecutive tabatas with the added benefit of utilizing the 80 seconds of rest for each tabata.

I just gave it a try and made 44.45 secs which was down to 9 squats and 12 pushups. I did the next 10 squats and I couldn’t push my self up any more with regular pushups. I did get down to 12 squats and 9 knee and then I couldn’t even push up from knee. What a challenge. Have to try this again one more time and see if I do better.

Matt, I still have to rest in the middle of some of the pushups sets. But it gets a little easier every time out.

One tip that makes it quicker for me since pushups are my weak point: start with 20 pushups and one squat. The toughest part gets easier as you go. Do the opposite if squats are your weakest link.
On off days, I’m doing 21’s with rows and crunches.
Next month, Kris Hamilton and I are doing this with Dips & Deads. Bodyweight dips and Deads with 135lbs.

That would be awesome Rick!

Double Blackjack in just under 29 minutes last night. Give it a shot!

Hammy, you could have done four rounds in the same time it took me to do two! Bwahaha!

Hit my goal of sub 25 with a few days to spare. Switched it up and started with 20 squats instead of pushups. 23:56. Pretty happy with that considering my first attempt December 1 was over 57 minutes. Lol
Don’t see me getting a lot quicker than this by the 31st. It was more arm strength than cardio holding me back. Had to split the last 5 pushups sets into mini sets of 4-6. Next months dips n Deads should help with that. In my defense, I’m lifting a lot more weight than most of you. Bwaha Won’t be happy til I am under 20.

Sorry for the late post here but I made a slow 11:27 was a good challenge I’m sure if I had done it for a couple weeks I could have been below 10 but I’m focused on some other things right now. Congrats to the winner

Well it’s only been a few years…..
Decided to give this a crack during my reset. 50:13.
Lots of improvements to come. Worst bit is my wrists during the push-ups but I’m sure after a few days of this they’ll be stretched out nicely.
