United States Hand Strength Championship Results
Monday, September 21st, 2009
The 2009 United States Hand Strength Championship is in the books and standing on top of the heap is Andrew Durniat. The rising star from Ohio took the title on Saturday, winning two events out-right and tying for first in two others.
This is how it all played out…
The first event was grippers. I felt somewhat off on grippers but actually closed a 3.5 rated about two pounds heavier than the one I closed at the Lift at Jedd’s qualifier I held three weeks earlier. The top performance for Grippers on Saturday was a tie between Andrew and Frank Snyder, who both closed a 182.1-rated Elite.
Here’s how the pack laid out:

How To Make A Grip Strength Fanatic Cry
Sunday, September 6th, 2009This is a guest post by Shane Swing. I’ve sent him many thoughts and prayers over the course of the last few weeks, and in return he sent me this very thoughtful and inspiring guest post. Thanks Shane and I am keeping your daughter in my prayers. -Jedd-

My daughter took her first breath on August 4 of this year.
Such an angel she was.
However, she immediately had trouble nursing with mommy, she threw up constantly with the bottles we tried, and within a week, she lost 10% of her body weight.
This prompted weekly visits to the pediatrician, and sleepless nights for mommy and daddy.
Grip Feat Held Hostage – Half 115 Block Weight

Evil Jedd Johnson
Last week, the evil Jedd Johnson was holding this feat hostage for a sum of 20 comments. Check out the original post here ===>Â Block Weight Training.
It is great to see the Diesel universe come together for a good cause and pay the ransom so that the world could see this block weight being lifted.
As you can see, this block weight is of tremendous size with a 7-inch total slope and angles nearly two inches long. For years, this thing remained unliftable; an impossible feat of strength.
I’ve broken it off the ground a few times in the past, getting it about 6 inches off the ground after the Grip Strength Nationals in 2008. But was never able to lift it until now… Check out the video below.
